Reforestation

Citola reforestation projects create new carbon sinks thereby generating carbon offsets. The amount of carbon dioxide equivalent sequestered is directly related to the tree growth and the increase in biomass of the forestry ecosystem including the soil and root system.  Factors such as type of tree, number of trees per hectare (to optimise growth), temperature, soil conditions, rainfall, vista, weed control and pests influence the growth of the forest area and therefore the carbon dioxide absorption rates.  Citola reforestation projects are developed to optimise carbon sequestration.
