Citola recognises that the success of its forestry operations are dependant on sustainable profitable forest management and is hence committed to upholding the following forestry policy:

  • Citola manages land, forestry and timber resources according to the best management practices available and intent of all statutory requirements and relevant codes of practice
  • For all forestry operations, Citola executes an environmental performance evaluation procedure including a framework for setting and reviewing environmental, social, economic and cultural requirements
  • In achieving its objectives, Citola strives to work with the environment wherever possible, in the full understanding that not doing so will negate the achievement of any objective.
  • Citola promotes a professional work ethic that places a high value on the environmental quality of the land resource and scientific excellence in relation to sustainable forest management.
  • Citola will actively participate in improving the environmental performance of the industries and communities of which we are a part.
  • Citola informs clients of the interrelationships between economic, social, environmental and cultural factors for forestry operations and reports achievements and issues in these areas.
  • Citola selects and support suppliers where possible who are committed to the maintenance and enhancement of environmental, social and cultural values
