Sofala Community Carbon Project achieves CCBA Gold
We are pleased to announce that the Rainforest Alliance has certified the Sofala Community Carbon Project as CCBA Gold in all three areas of climate, community and biodiversity.
The Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA) is a partnership of international NGOs and research institutes seeking to promote integrated solutions to land management around the world. Accordingly, the CCBA develops voluntary standards to help design and identify land management activities that simultaneously minimise climate change, support sustainable development and conserve biodiversity.
The Rainforest Alliance works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behaviour.
According to CCBA sources, the Sofala Community Carbon Project is unique as the only project to be validated at the 'Gold' level in all three areas of climate, community and biodiversity. We are proud of Sofala realising this achievement and from this point forward Sofala carbon offsets will be considered Plan Vivo / CCBA Gold.
