Social Marketing's Three-Way Win
At Citola, we believe the best results come when looking to achieve triple-bottom outcomes: the commercial, the environmental and the social (the community aspect of what we do, if you will). That means listening to the environment and adapting to it rather than trying to bend nature to our will.
That attitude extends beyond the ecological to the commercial world. Which is why we’re delighted to announce our active participation in the World Non-Profit and Social Marketing Conference (WNPSM), to be held in Dublin in April 2011.
The WNPSM has laudable aims that go well beyond minimising the use of paper and the energy consumed to create it.
“We’re delighted to be involved with the WNSM,” says Angus MacNee, chief executive here at Citola. “The idea of sustainable commercialism is in perfect harmony with our business ethic here at Citola.
“We believe, for example, that reforestation and avoided deforestation (REDD) projects are a vital way forward in helping to reduce atmospheric carbon emissions. But before REDD protocols gain universal acceptance across international boundaries, we’re developing sustainable forestry programs that make good commercial sense in today’s world.”
It’s a matter of course, then, to be associated with the WNSM conference, and in particular to make Citola's carbon-offsetting technology available to conference partners (and individuals, come to that) and the wider world. The technology allows conference partners to mitigate the effect of their carbon footprints. It’s a short-term solution, but, we believe, one that’s much better than nothing. See you there.
