Citola joins Asia-Pacific Emissions Trading Forum
Citola has joined the Asia-Pacific Emissions Trading Forum (AETF) to engage with stakeholders regarding emissions trading policy and carbon market developments.
The Asia-Pacific Emissions Trading Forum (AETF) was established in 1998 to promote open, well-informed public and business debate about emissions trading and the challenges and opportunities of the carbon market. The AETF provides a source of information, analysis and business networking and believes this assists to provide the foundation and stimulus to progress the development of effective market-based solutions to climate change.
From 1 January 2011, the AETF will become part of a new Carbon Market Institute (CMI) which will build on the AETF’s existing program and membership, and allow a substantial expansion in its capacity to support Australian business in its dealings with developing carbon markets. The objective of the CMI will be to assist Australian business with the implementation of climate-related markets and associated business opportunities. It will work with industry stakeholders to provide services, facilities and benefits to members and the broader business. The CMI will be a national body with strategic national and international partnerships, affiliations and an outlook, in time, to serve the Asia-Pacific region. It will aim to work in concert with Australian industry and other key stakeholders to help position Australia as an emissions trading hub for the Asia-Pacific region.
