Citola Forms Agreement with Three Carbon Reduction Projects
Citola is pleased to announce it has formed an agreement with three carbon reduction projects, enabling it to offer the carbon offsets originated at the projects to clients. The three projects are multifaceted, sustainable initiatives utilising a combination of afforestation, reforestation, forest restoration and agroforestry.
Angus MacNee, CEO of Citola, announced “We are very pleased to have established relationships with forestry projects which originate carbon offsets and provide valuable co-benefits to the environment and communities in which they operate.”
He continued, “the requirement of forestry playing an important role in global climate policy is now clear and should see the continued support of community based forestry projects that provide substantial additional benefits to local communities.”
The projects include:
- The Scolel Te Project with sites in central and northern Chiapas and northeast Oxaca, southern Mexico;
- The Sofala Community Carbon Project in the buffer zone of the Gorongosa National Park, Sofala Province, Mozambique; and
- The Limay Community Project in The Municipality of San Juan de Limay, Nicaragua.
